In light of the recent increases in Covid-19 cases content was scaled back and moved online.
We are pleased to share recognition of the Nehantic peoples whose beautiful homelands we now inhabit. Please take some part of the day to reflect on our human histories, and on how and by whom it is recorded. We encourage those interested to seek out information on the Nehantics history and continuing presence as well as to support the East Lyme Historical Society.

Outreach Committee members have arranged to share a music video especially made for this occasion featuring ELDTC friends Cody Riggers, vocals, and Ted Koch, guitar, as well as lyrics:
PDF of Notes on Lucretias’s Lament
The EL Historical Society is a local non-profit which maintains an exhibit about the Nehantic tribe (closed presently). They are a valuable repository of artifacts, connections, and knowledge, and membership helps to preserve and maintain the Thomas Lee House, Little Boston School House, and other historical resources of the Town of East Lyme. They are a non-partisan organization and have no formal association with the ELDTC.
Visit them online here: https://eastlymehistoricalsociety.org/ or download a membership form here.
The Outreach team greatly appreciates the efforts of community volunteers Elsbeth Dowd as well as Cody & Ted in the creation of this content. Follow Cody on Instagram @missmadeiralovely.
