Bombach
for Planning Commission
Brian Bohmbach is a thirty-year resident of East Lyme. He lives here with his wife Michelle and their dog Ruthie. He is the proud father of two children, a daughter Emily and son Benjamin. Brian works at Millstone Power Station as a Project Manager. Brian holds an MBA from UCONN and has served two terms as a Planning Commission alternate. Brian is a lifelong Democrat who believes in giving back to the community.
As a Planning Commission member, Brian will seek to ensure that future development is done thoughtfully, the character of the town is protected, open space is promoted, and that the Town’s natural resources are maintained in accordance with the Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) and East Lyme Subdivision Regulations.
Rich
Gordon
for Planning Commission
Rich Gordon aims to help the town continue to be an outstanding place to live by facilitating a balance between the best interests of community members, economic development, and environmental concerns. Rich was elected to the Planning Commission in 2019, and is currently Commission Secretary. He served on the Planning and Conservation Development (POCD) Subcommittee, as well as the Affordable Housing Subcommittee.
Rich began to frequent the East Lyme area in 1997 and became a property owner in Niantic in the spring of 2009. He and his wife moved here full-time in 2015. Rich worked as a Federal employee for the U.S. Customs Office where he was responsible for analyzing risk factors and facilitating compliance for major importers and brokers. He was also the Customs liaison for the businesses and resolved any issues companies had. He further prepared and delivered presentations on policies & procedures plus on programs for trade associations and related groups. Rich is now retired, after which time he became more involved in our community.
Rich serves on the Board of the East Lyme Historical Society (ELHS), as well as the East Lyme Democratic Town Committee (ELDTC), both of which he joined in 2018. He is on the Executive Board for the ELDTC and is an officer for the ELHS and is recognized for his excellence as secretary for both.
Nick Menapace
for Planning Commission
Nick Menapace has been a teacher for over ten years and currently teaches middle school social studies in Norwich. He graduated from Central Connecticut State University and currently lives in Niantic with his wife Stephanie. An Eagle Scout, Nick is deeply committed to environmental preservation. If elected to the Planning Commission, Nick wants to help the town pursue more responsible development for the benefit of today’s residents as well as for future ones.
Nick is dedicated to ensuring that forthcoming development occurs thoughtfully, safeguarding the town's essence, endorsing open space, and preserving the Town's natural assets. He would do so in alignment with the approved Town Plan of Conservation and Development (‘POCD’) and East Lyme Subdivision Regulations.
